22 Steps to Grow from $500 to $10,000 on YouTube.pdf

June came in hot, and not just because of the heatwaves. YouTube dropped a bunch of new changes and expanded the existing tools beyond the borders of the US. Here’s everything you need to know.

MrBeast Becomes The First Individual Creator To Reach 500 Million Subscribers

On June 12, Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, crossed 500 million subscribers! He makes history by becoming the first individual creator in YouTube’s existence to cross this number. We congratulate MrBeast and can’t wait to see what he has in store for his fans.

A brief timeline:

  • November 2022: most-subscribed individual creator on YouTube
  • June 2024: most-subscribed channel on the entire platform
  • June 12, 2026: 500 million subscribers

His channel runs philanthropy and large-scale production in parallel. "#TeamTrees" raised over $25 million to plant 25 million trees. "#TeamSeas" raised more than $30 million to remove ocean and coastal waste. In 2025, "#TeamWater", alongside Mark Rober, with creators from 115 countries, raised $40 million for WaterAid.

On the content side, "$456,000 Squid Game In Real Life!" is approaching 1 billion views. Events like "50 YouTubers Fight for $1,000,000" and its April 2026 live-streamed sequel treated YouTube itself as a competitive multiplayer environment.

New Insights Tools for Brands and Agencies at Cannes Lions 2026

Our team is still in Cannes, where YouTube announced quite a few interesting features. Let’s see what we know so far:

  • Deeper trend data: Google Ads Insights Finder now includes more granular trending data specific to the US, giving brands a real-time read on what's gaining traction on YouTube
  • Integrated brand pulse insights: select Brand Pulse report metrics now surface directly inside Insights Finder, combining paid and organic YouTube presence into a single view
  • Insights APIs for partners: a new Content & Creator Insights API gives agencies richer data on YouTube creators and their audiences, designed to improve media planning accuracy
  • Demand Gen creative tips via Gemini: coming soon: Gemini will analyze Demand Gen campaigns and surface creative recommendations, including which visuals are likely to improve performance

The Festival is still ongoing, so there’s more to look forward to!

In-App Video Sharing Expands To The US And Global Markets

YouTube is rolling out its in-app video-sharing and messaging feature to the US and additional countries for users aged 18 and older. Users tap a new messaging icon within the app to send a video and react to it in real time. Community Guidelines apply to all messages and shared content.

The feature was already live in select markets, and this is an expansion based on positive early response, with further rollout planned.

What this means for creators:

  • Shared videos stay inside YouTube rather than routing to external messaging apps
  • Content that travels well person-to-person may pick up additional reach through direct sharing

Search Profiles: an Official Creator Presence on Google Search

YouTube is introducing Search profiles, which are verified, customizable page that consolidates a creator's social accounts, websites, posts, and links into a single destination surfaced through Google Search and Discover.

What a Search profile includes:

  • Tailored bio and avatar
  • Pinned videos and essential links
  • A unified view of all connected platforms

For eligible creators with a meaningful following on YouTube or another social or video platform, setting up a profile can trigger or enhance a Knowledge Panel, aka the structured snapshot that appears when someone searches a creator's name.

Eligibility and setup: creators.google/profile

What this means for creators:

  • Brand deals, collaborations, and fan discovery rely on accurate public information; Search profiles consolidate that into one verified source
  • Knowledge Panel visibility is a credibility signal for creators building off-platform partnerships

YouTube Launches a Creator Consultation Across All 27 EU Member States

YouTube is running the European Creator Consultation, which is a structured survey reaching creators across every EU country, aimed at giving policymakers data on the barriers and opportunities facing the creator economy.

The initiative follows a UK consultation that produced a published report used in policy discussions. The European version covers what it takes to set up a creator business, skills development gaps, and regulatory barriers. Findings will be compiled into a report shared with policymakers in Brussels and across EU member states.

New Creative AI Tools Announced for TikTok

TikTok introduced a new AI system called Symphony Agent at Cannes Lions. It’s an agentic AI system for advertisers that generates TikTok-first campaigns from a creative brief. It operates across three existing tools:

  • Symphony Creative Studio: advertisers input brand goals; the system develops ad creative using platform performance signals through a chat-based interface.
  • Content Suite with AI Search: advertisers describe creative needs in plain language; Symphony Agent searches existing creator content and surfaces relevant matches.
  • TikTok One: streamlines creator discovery and campaign execution. Brands can generate briefs, invite creators at scale, and find creators by language for cross-market adaptation.

TikTok also announced integration of Symphony capabilities into Zoyumi, dentsu's AI-powered media activation platform. Image to Video is available now; Caption Removal, Dubbing, and Digital Avatars are coming.

What this means for creators:

  • Symphony Agent actively matches brands to creator content, which is a clearly defined niche that makes a creator easier to surface and select
  • Content Suite AI Search means existing videos can be discovered and repurposed in brand campaigns without a creator actively pitching

Custom Creator Networks Launch in Content Suite

TikTok is introducing Custom Creator Networks inside Content Suite, a feature that lets brands build a curated pool of creators, employees, partners, or brand advocates.

How it works:

  • Brands build a private network of trusted creators or internal advocates
  • Network members receive campaign briefs directly
  • Existing brand-relevant videos can be converted into ads through the network

The first live implementation is with Starbucks, built on their existing Green Apron Creator Program. Starbucks employees will receive briefs, create content, and participate in ad revenue sharing through the network.

What this means for creators:

  • Being part of a brand's Custom Creator Network creates repeatable, structured deal flow rather than one-off campaigns
  • Employee-creator programs are becoming a formalized TikTok ad product, relevant for creators with institutional or brand relationships
