One Last Thing Before You Go

June came in hot, and not just because of VidCon. YouTube dropped a stack of new tools and changes. AI is going mainstream, viewer data is getting smarter, and monetization keeps changing.
We already broke down every major takeaway from VidCon — from AI-powered storytelling to what top creators are really doing right now. Read that here → What VidCon 2025 Really Taught Us (That You'll Actually Use)
A few stats YouTube leaders dropped at VidCon:
- YouTube has been #1 in streaming watch time in the US for two years straight
- Shorts now pull in 200 billion views daily
- 1B+ hours watched on TVs daily. TV viewership in the US has overtaken mobile since last year
- 1B+ podcast listeners monthly
- Channel memberships grew 45% in the past year
So, like we’ve told creators for years — it pays to mix formats: long-form, Shorts, and streams, while optimizing for TV and launching memberships the right way. We can help with all of that.
Now, let’s get to the newest YouTube updates this month.
New Viewer Segments Just Dropped
YouTube’s audience insights just got a next-level update. Watch the full breakdown
Now you can see:
- New Viewers – first-time watchers in a set period
- Casual Viewers – tune in 1–5 months a year
- Regular Viewers – fans watching 6+ months in a row
This works across Shorts, long-form, and livestreams. And it’s your new tool for targeting content by loyalty level.
Pro Tip from YouTube: Boost Regulars with Community posts, livestreams, and comments.
Also new:
- “Most Relevant” comments filter now helps you surface the top discussions on your channel and videos.
- Fan Leaderboard for Streams is now live globally. Viewers rack up points during livestreams — it’s on by default (but you can turn it off).
Advanced Analytics Gets a UX Glow-Up
YouTube Studio’s Advanced Mode is getting way easier to use:
- New sidebar: all your breakdowns, filters, and metrics in one spot
- Search videos by title, sort by date or duration
- Save your favorite filters as custom reports
- Quick access to popular reports — including the crucial “First 24 Hours After Publish”
- New comparisons: playlist vs. playlist, age/gender, period to period — it’s all possible now
Rolling out to all creators in the coming weeks.

Auto-Dubbing Expands to 80M Creators
Auto-dubbing is going global with 11 new languages.
Once you verify your channel and enable it, your videos (including Shorts) will get dubbed automatically in your viewer’s preferred language.
It’s the fastest way to test international reach — and it takes almost zero effort.
How to turn it on:
YouTube Studio → Settings → Upload Defaults → Advanced Settings → Allow automatic dubbing
It’s not studio-quality, but it’s incredibly useful for discovering new markets. YouTube is available in 100+ countries and 80 languages. Maybe your content finds traction in Brazil. Or Japan. Or a French-speaking region. You won’t know until you try.
When a language clicks, that’s your cue to go pro — with studio-level quality dubbing, localized subtitles, metadata, thumbnails, and real monetization strategies for those new regions. We can help you scale that next step.
But first, flip the switch. Let the audience show up.
Gemini Enters the AI Voice Field
Google's Gemini speech AI is now up against Eleven Labs:
- 24 languages, 30 voices
- Free to use
- Built on Gemini 2.5
You can try it and let’s watch the AI progress here.
Veo 3: AI Shorts Are About to Change
YouTube’s CEO just confirmed it — Veo 3 AI tools are coming to Shorts for everyone this summer. Until now, only top Shorts creators had it. Now:
- Create entire Shorts with just a prompt
- Think jungle cats, alien cities, space races — anything goes
Reminder: the magic’s in the idea. AI won’t write your story for you.
Bing & Sora Launch AI Video Generator
Bing Video Creator now includes OpenAI’s Sora.
Type a prompt like “an otter kneading dough in a pizzeria” and boom — you’ve got a 5-second masterpiece.
Details:
- Mobile only via Bing App (for now)
- 10 fast video generations free
- Earn more via Microsoft Rewards or wait for free ones
- Use it at: bing.com/create
Dream Screen Expands to the UK
Dream Screen now available for UK creators:
- Generate 6-sec Shorts or backgrounds from text
- More regions coming soon
Inspiration Tab Expands in Europe
Creators in the EU, UK, and Switzerland now get access to:
- AI-generated content ideas and backlog
- Work on script and outline
- Title and thumbnail suggestions
At VidCon, YouTube dropped a wild example of how Inspiration Tab can help. Creator Sambucha (10M+ subs) was playing around with the feature when it suggested an idea: buy a bunch of products that look AI-generated.
He did.
One of them, a 7-foot-tall gorilla couch that actually got delivered to his room. That video pulled in nearly 7 million views in just a few months.
Sometimes the best ideas come straight from the tools built into Studio.
No more blank page syndrome.
AI-Powered Search & Chatbot
AI is changing how fans find your content:
- AI carousel in YouTube search
- Built-in video chatbot lets viewers ask questions or get follow-up videos directly under yours
- Only for Premium users (US), but expect wider rollout
It’s becoming a mini-Google — inside YouTube.
Livestream Age Limit Now 16+
Starting July 22, creators under 16 can’t go live.
Also:
- Streams featuring 13–15-year-olds without adults may lose features
- Could be removed entirely in future
Reason? Likely a response to growing global pressure on platforms to protect minors.
Shopping Stickers in Shorts = Big CTR Boost
Shopping Stickers are rolling out globally after boosting product clicks by 40% in US tests. Now, products can appear inside Shorts, not just below as banners.
At VidCon, YouTube shared a stat that turns heads: viewers now spend around 80 million hours a day watching shopping-related videos.
That’s why those new product stickers in Shorts could be huge.
The feature’s already rolling out globally. If you’re showing off products, these stickers make it one tap from view to buy.
Auto-Sync to Beat Now for All Creators
The April update launched auto-syncing for Shorts. Now it’s global:
- Upload clips or photos
- Sync to any music track automatically
- Refine the beat match to fit your vision
It’s faster, cleaner, and easier to look pro.
Community Tab Now for Everyone
All creators can now use the Community Tab. Let your fans post too (mobile only for now). Great for boosting engagement with Regular Viewers.
Animated Gifts in Streams
Four new animated donation gifts (US only) for livestreams. YouTube says: always thank your donors live — it spikes participation.
Player for Education = New Monetization Stream
If schools use your videos, now you can get paid:
- Enable embedding
- Wait for a contract if your content’s used
- Track income in Earn → Player for Education
Made for educational creators — and it’s ad-free for students.
What Creators Should Do Now
This month’s updates are a turning point. Here’s where to start:
- Dive into your new viewer segments → plan smarter content
- Try AI-powered Shorts tools (Veo, Dream Screen, Bing)
- Enable auto-dubbing for new languages
- Add YouTube Shorts and streams to your mix
- Use Shopping Stickers and auto-sync for Shorts
- Explore the new search tools — AI is already changing discovery.
One Last Thing Before You Go
That was a lot.
But you don’t need to jump on every update today. Just pick one or two that make sense for your content right now. Try auto-dubbing. Start streaming (maybe even 24/7). Add more Shorts. Test a Shopping Sticker. Check out who your Regular Viewers are.
And if you ever feel stuck or want a second brain on strategy — that’s literally what we do. We’ve helped 3,000+ creators grow, monetize, and go global.
