22 Steps to Grow from $500 to $10,000 on YouTube.pdf

The “What’s next?” question is one that many YouTubers wake up with and fall asleep with, especially when growth stalls. This was the case for our partner, a European music review channel. And they’ve found the way out, reaching +36% revenue growth.

This channel had great content, a loyal audience, and all the right pieces in place. But despite their hard work, they weren’t seeing the growth they expected.

Simple Tweaks with Major Impact

This music channel had reached a plateau, and they knew they needed expert help to push through the wall.

So, they turned to our team for advice.

What We Did

The first thing that needed to be done was a thorough analysis of their content, what they did, and how they operated their channel. After analysis, our team had clocked two issues:

  1. outdated metadata
  2. a narrow video format strategy

To fix that, we implemented a complete optimization plan:

Video Metadata Revamp

It sounds like a simple enough change, right? Updating titles, descriptions, and tags to align with current search trends and viewer intent. This, however, is a bit trickier than some content creators might think.

To completely revamp video metadata, you need to delve into research. What makes the current viewer click? Implementing this strategy currently improves discoverability and boosts organic reach for both new and older uploads.

Content Strategy Overhaul

What does it mean? Well, no, we didn’t suggest switching to a different niche. But we did suggest expanding the channel’s focus.

We recommended adding more formats:

  • Interviews
  • Multi-angle discussions
  • Reaction videos with celebrities
  • Music trend discussions

These changes gave the channel a fresh perspective, attracted new viewers, and kept the old ones hooked.

Channel Re-Optimization

Refreshing and reorganizing the channel structure (aka playlists) might not sound like a sophisticated solution at a glance, but it works better than you’d expect.

First, good channel structure maximizes average session time and brings new traffic to older videos that might have previously plateaued.

Additionally, it makes the channel look more visually appealing. Structure attracts the viewer and makes it easier to find whatever they’re looking for.

The Results

The results speak for themselves. Let’s start with the views:

Before: 1M

After: 3M

Not bad, that’s more than an x2 jump in only a few months. The average viewtime also increased from 106,318 to 157,314. The subscriber count had also increased by almost 1,200 viewers. Now, let’s talk revenue!

💰 Before: $1,168.85
💰 After: $1,591.90

That’s a 36.2% revenue increase, which is an extra $423.05 earned. This growth didn’t come out of nowhere. All of it came from a clear plan, good optimization, a loyal fanbase, and endless commitment from the content creator behind the channel. Understanding what truly drives performance on YouTube is a needed push towards growth.

When your YouTube growth hits a wall, you don’t need to make more content, but you do need to shift your strategy. This channel’s success shows what happens when you take a step back, audit your performance, and refine your strategy to better suit your needs.

Know Your Next Step on YouTube

At some point, every creator reaches a plateau where intuition alone isn’t enough. YouTube algorithms are constantly changing and shifting, and YouTube itself doesn’t come with a detailed manual on growth. A couple of wrong moves can mess up your entire flow, and the right guidance can transform your trajectory in just a few weeks.
