September brings a fresh set of YouTube updates that will boost your content’s reach, engagement, and monetization. From new AI-driven Shorts features to better streaming tools and smarter brand deals, these changes are designed to help you grow faster and more effectively. Let’s dive in.
YouTube A/B Testing: Titles Now Included
YouTube is now rolling out A/B testing for titles, allowing you to test up to 3 different title options for your videos. This feature helps you:
- Increase Click-Through Rates (CTR): By testing and optimizing your titles, you’ll improve your chances of getting clicks and views.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Let YouTube’s algorithm determine which title works best, so you can focus on creating.
We've all been waiting for this feature. It’s like the excitement we had for thumbnail A/B testing in 2023, which was used over 15 million times. Now, it’s time to test titles—there’s a rumor it’ll be used even more often.
YouTube Streaming: Multi-Format and AI Highlights
YouTube is introducing several new features to make live streaming easier and more engaging:
- Multi-Format Streaming: Stream both in horizontal and vertical formats simultaneously, catering to both mobile and desktop viewers.]
- AI-Powered Highlights: After your stream, YouTube will automatically create Shorts from the best moments, ensuring your stream’s key content is easily shareable.
These features make it easier to reach a wider audience and keep your stream content alive even after you’re offline.
“We’ve been telling creators to stream both vertically and horizontally for years. Vertical streams are unlocking fresh audiences like never before, while horizontal streams deliver both reach and income. In 2025, it has been driving real growth, and YouTube’s made it even easier. Don’t skip it, make it part of your strategy.” – Vlad Hvorostyanyi, YouTube Development Expert at AIR.
YouTube Shorts: Extend with AI
YouTube’s new Extend with AI feature for Shorts allows you to remix another creator's content and extend it with an AI-generated continuation. Here’s how it works:
- Choose up to 5 seconds from someone else’s Short.
- Tap "Remix → Extend with AI". The AI will generate prompts like “the hero falls” or “a cat appears.”
- AI Generates Continuation. It creates an 8-second continuation.
- Add music, trim, or tweak it however you like.
- Share your extended Short, with a link to the original.
This feature allows you to engage with viral content and make it your own, increasing your chances of virality. Creators who don’t want their content used can opt-out.
Auto-Shorts from Streams on YouTube
Streaming is no joke on YouTube in 2025. They just announced that over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025.
And now, YouTube is making it even easier to repurpose your stream content. When you finish a mobile stream, YouTube will auto-create a Short from your broadcast. This feature automatically pulls highlights and generates a Short from your stream content, reducing the time spent on editing and repurposing your content.

YouTube Shopping: AI-Powered Tags
YouTube is improving the Shopping feature by using AI to automatically tag products mentioned in your videos. This feature is becoming a must-have. Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) is growing 5X year-over-year, with over 500,000 creators already on board globally as of July 2025.
- AI identifies when a product is mentioned and adds the tag at the most relevant time.
- This helps capture viewer interest when they’re most likely to buy.
This feature saves time for creators and makes monetizing your content through product placements easier than ever.
YouTube’s Auto Dubbing with Lip Sync
That's a big promise. Lip-syncing has always been tricky in dubbing. But now, YouTube is teasing us with a solution that could fix it. They claim the upcoming lip-sync tech will match the speaker’s lips to the new dubbed language, making videos look way more natural and engaging for viewers worldwide.
There’s a lot of anticipation around this. YouTubers have been waiting for auto-dubbing for a while, but when it launched, it stirred up some controversy. Still, it’s been one of the quickest ways to test languages. Maybe your content will really connect in Brazil, Japan, or a French-speaking region. You won’t know until you try.
But in 2025, relying solely on AI dubbing won’t cut it on YouTube. It can drop your AVD by 4-5 times. Be careful with that.
Start by testing with auto-dubbing, then scale globally with studio-level quality. Check out how it sounds in a real-world case here.

YouTube Monetization: Flexible Brand Partnerships
YouTube is rolling out dynamic sponsorships, allowing you to insert brand segments into your videos at flexible points rather than permanently embedding them.
Here’s how it works:
- Add brand segments wherever they fit best in your content.
- Once the campaign ends, you can remove the brand segment or even resell the slot to another brand.
- Creators can now add direct links to brands' websites in Shorts to drive conversions and track performance.
Ask Studio: Your New AI-Powered Creative Partner
Ask Studio is a new tool in YouTube Studio that acts like your personal AI-powered assistant. You can ask it questions like:
- “Why didn’t my last video perform well?”
- “What’s my audience saying about my editing style?”
Ask Studio gives you quick, actionable insights that help you optimize your content and grow your channel faster.
YouTube Playables: Interactivity in Streams
YouTube is adding Playables to live streams, allowing you to integrate interactive games like Angry Birds and Trivia Crack directly into your broadcasts.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Games in Your Streams: Add fun, interactive games that your audience can play while engaging with you in real-time.
- Monetization: Just like regular streams, these interactive broadcasts can be monetized, providing more ways to earn while keeping your audience entertained.
If you missed out on what Playables are, check out the details in the YouTube Blog (they were launched in 2024).
YouTube Collaboration Features: Tagging Multiple Creators
YouTube now lets you tag up to 5 creators in a single video. This means:
- Increased Visibility. Your video will be recommended to the audiences of all the tagged creators.
- Collaboration Analytics. You’ll be able to track how your collaborative content performs.
YouTube Studio: Comment Filters & Mobile Features
YouTube is introducing new comment management tools to make it easier to stay engaged with your community:
- Replies with New Comments: Quickly identify fresh replies to your videos.
- Most Relevant Mode: Focus on the most engaging comments.
- Save Default Filters on Mobile: No need to adjust your filters every time you check comments on mobile.
These updates help you save time and focus on the most important interactions, keeping your community engagement smooth and efficient.
More YouTube Updates: Community, New Gift Effects & More
- Direct Link to Community: You can now easily share your Post tab (formerly known as Community) on social media or add it to your bio.
- New Gift Effects: YouTube has introduced fun new gift effects like Cat Ears and Flower Crown in vertical streams.
- Gift Goals in Streams: Creators can now set gift goals in vertical streams to encourage more donations and boost engagement.
